INSPIRATION
A friend shared this video with me the other night. Cool song by Swedish Daniel Savio and a fantastic video by director Måns Nyman. I like the art direction a lot and it’s really well executed and somehow manages to be playful and dark at the same time. I also love the typography/graphic elements that break up the images.

GOODENOUGH
It’s still gonna be a little while until my debut album comes out, but in the meanwhile, you could have a listen to my EP Goodenough from 2010.
Funfact: Goodenough and OK Computer was mixed on the same mixing console

Inspiration: Lost in the World
I love this video. It’s rare for me to see a video that I can watch again and again, but this is one. It’s kinda perfect. A collaborative project(?) between filmmaker Ruth Hogben and Kanye West.

I’m working on the live version of one of the songs from the album and this is going to turn into a single version of it too. No live drums this time around, but my sexy drum machine got things rolling.

today in the studio: loud music
My neighbors in the studio are seemingly gone today, so I’m taking the opportunity to play loud music. I think I’m still kinda worked up about D’Angelo’s show in Oslo last night. That was one for the books. Amazing. So today I’ve been listening to Chelsea Wolfe and Austra. I just discovered Austra (always a dangerous thing to say since I’m most likely late in...

a breather
Last night’s concert was really, really fun. It was actually the first time we played a full set and it was great to play some old stuff again. Now I’m packing and migrating south for a few days before I come back to Oslo and finish the arrangements and recordings for the record. We start mixing later in September and October. New things to look forward to. But now - it’s time...

festival and a world premiere
I’ve been rehearsing with my new (and expanded) band this weekend for the upcoming gig at Øyafestivalen this Wednesday. The weather is supposed to hold up, the new songs are sounding better than ever and the band is excited like a kindergarten, according to J., the drummer. It’s looking good.
I get to enjoy two days of the festival before I get on a plane and catch the last rehearsal...

Fun, Fun.
After weeks of writing, writing and writing, it is finally time to change gears. The next nine days are going to be amazing. It all starts off tonight with the premiere of the video for Homestreet, as well as a concert. Next up is the gig at the amazing Øyafestivalen in Oslo on Wednesday, followed by the world premiere of my Symphony #1 for Strings next Saturday. I hope you can join in on at...

XV is a collection of fifteen second teasers from a fictitious album of songs that don’t exist. Put together, this “album” and their respective videos is 180 seconds long. I’ve never done anything that has taken as long to complete.

in the basement
Among the long list of fantastic contributions Nigel Godrich’s has done asa producer, is his TV concept, In the Basement, where bands and artists play live shows recorded in a studio. This morning I just came across Radiohead’s recent performance, and I’m totally amazed. So much for getting straight to work this morning! Follow this link for the best possible distraction today.

Shows added
I’m playing three shows in Oslo in August. Details to the right.
First and foremost, I’m celebrating the release of my second music video! My friend Glenn Erland directed the video and we shot it in New York last summer. We’ll show the video for the first time August 3rd and I’ll play some new songs after that.
Secondly, I’m very honored and thrilled, to say the...

Festivals
The video for Wander is being shown at the Norwegian Shortfilm Festival in Grimstad today. There’s usually a ton of really good videos, so the competition is hard, but fingers crossed for Kristoffer Borgli and the brilliant video he made for Wander! The winner will be announced tomorrow.
In other news, I’m happy to announce that I’m the festival composer at this year’s...
