A friend shared this video with me the other night. Cool song by Swedish Daniel Savio and a fantastic video by director Måns Nyman. I like the art direction a lot and it’s really well executed and somehow manages to be playful and dark at the same time. I also love the typography/graphic elements that break up the images.

I wanted to share some pictures from the gig with High Places last week. Andreas Paleologos outdid himself with the visuals. He had everything mapped out on a keyboard and played along to the music so that visuals were in perfect sync with the music. I’ll post a video clip of it soon.

I’ve been in a lockdown in my studio the last coupla weeks preparing for my first gig with new material and the new setup tomorrow night in Oslo. The list of things to be excited about for the show just got longer: My good friend Andreas will be VJ’ing for me! He showed me some samples last night on FaceTime and it looks superb. As always. My neighbors in the studio are seemingly gone today, so I’m taking the opportunity to play loud music. I think I’m still kinda worked up about D’Angelo’s show in Oslo last night. That was one for the books. Amazing. So today I’ve been listening to Chelsea Wolfe and Austra. I just discovered Austra (always a dangerous thing to say since I’m most likely late in the game to find them) and I’m really liking it. Chelsea Wolfe is something to herself. Really intriguing lady.

I’ve thought about this before too, but I think a majority of the music I find inspiring is made by female artists. I don’t know why I’d expect that to be different, but it’s becoming more and more apparent.

I’m thinking a great deal about visuals these days. Another interesting aspect of Chelsea Wolfe’s work:
