the first note
Yesterday I put down the first few notes on paper for a commission I’m writing for an string orchestra this spring and summer. I’ve been working on my own stuff for so long now that it’s taking some time to shift gears. Piano, paper, pencil. Not synths, drum machine, bass and mics. It’s exciting though. I love doing a lot of different things and it all sort of feeds into each other. That being said, my record isn’t finished yet. It’s getting close. Stig, my drummer, came by the studio today and we listened through the tracks and figured out some things. Can’t wait to get him and Andreas (bass) to the studio to lay down their parts. It’s all happening in May! Big month. Monumentalish.
